Another day, another five-star Georgia football commit. Monday was a big day for the Bulldogs as they landed five-star quarterback and No. 1 overall recruit in the 2024 class, Dylan Raiola.

The son of Nebraska legend Dominic Raiola picked the Bulldogs over the likes of USC, Nebraska, and others and the former Ohio State commit may be bringing a friend with him.

Five-star wide receiver Jeremiah Smith, the No. 1 wideout in the 2024 class, is apparently thinking long and hard about his current commitment to Ohio State. He has been committed to Ohio State since December and a few days after his pledge, Raiola decommitted.

The two have a close relationship so you had to know that would likely affect Smith’s pledge in the end. It looks like that’s already happening now that Raiola has a new home.

Telling On3’s Chad Simmons that he has to “really give Georgia a look now” is a telling quote and it feels like just a matter of time before he leaves Columbus for Athens.

Of course, this is all speculation, but it feels inevitable at this point.

Georgia football continues to have Ohio State’s number

Shortly after Raiola decommitted from Ohio State in December, the Buckeyes lost to Georgia in the playoff semifinal after a crushing missed field goal.

Now, Raiola is a Bulldog and Ohio State could be losing its top overall recruit to Kirby Smart and Georgia for the second time in five months. That would make three crushing blows that Georgia has delivered to Ohio State in a short span.

Brian Hartline will have to make a final pitch to Smith before he undoubtedly takes an official visit to Athens to see why his friend and No. 1 quarterback in the 2024 class fell in love with the Bulldogs.

It’s not looking good for Ohio State.

The two-time defending national champs just keep getting richer.
