Lane Kiffin is one step closer to landing one of the best players in the transfer portal. Ole Miss football is reportedly one of the finalists for Michigan State receiver transfer Keon Coleman.

According to a report from 247Sports, Ole Miss and Florida State are the two finalists for the talented Michigan State receiver. That would be a huge pick-up for Kiffin who has already landed a couple of top-tier receivers in the portal this offseason. Coleman is good enough to be a legitimate WR1.

There has been chatter that Michigan State is still in the running, but the public reports are stating that Ole Miss and Florida State are the two finalists.

If that’s the case, it should be a close battle considering both are contenders and both have really solid quarterback situations. Jaxson Dart is going to improve drastically this season, in my opinion, and that should be a huge selling point for Coleman.

Ole Miss football would be a nice fit

With two talented receivers coming in and an opening for the WR1 job available, Coleman would benefit from joining this offense. He wouldn’t be focused too much by opposing defenses because of the other transfers coming in and the Rebels have three good quarterbacks and an elite running back.

The 6-foot-4, muscular wide receiver from Louisiana was thought to be eyeing a return home to LSU and Texas A&M was also in the running but neither’s interest materialized.

It’ll be interesting to see if Coleman will pick the SEC or an ACC favorite. He could commit any day now.
