Pitt football coach Pat Narduzzi isn’t one to bite his tongue and keep his opinions to himself.

No, the outspoken head coach often lets his opinion fly, no matter whose feathers he seems to ruffle. Prior to the 2022 season, he stated that Pitt would have beaten Michigan State if Kenny Pickett played and said that the Panthers would have easily been one of the Big Ten’s best teams if that’s what the Spartans were in 2021. That made some fans at his former school upset.

Also last year, it was Lincoln Riley and USC who caught some flak from Narduzzi after Jordan Addison transferred seemingly out of nowhere, sparking tampering rumors.

Narduzzi was outspoken about his distrust in Riley and knocked the move.

Asked recently by The Athletic if he regretted putting Riley on blast publicly after the Addison transfer, he had a pretty candid response.

Narduzzi does speak for all coaches when he says that tampering is an issue and that more people should speak up. He also said that nothing has been done about the “Jordan Addison thing” so it may not lead to anything. He also said that he doesn’t mind opening up because he has nothing to hide and Pitt is doing things the right way.

Pitt football fans have an honest coach

As a Michigan State fan and alum, I will say that I do admire Narduzzi’s willingness to be open and honest when most coaches aren’t. He doesn’t stick to coachspeak and that’s what you have to love about him.

Did USC tamper for Addison? That’s a big accusation, but it seems to have some serious legs. Narduzzi wants to make sure that people know that’s what happened.

If you want a coach to stay silent when issues arise, Narduzzi isn’t your guy.

Who else would love to see a USC vs. Pitt bowl game?
