Lane Kiffin has assembled yet another intriguing roster via the portal and a solid incoming recruiting class, and expectations for Ole Miss football are on the rise.

The program took a bit of a step back in 2022 after winning 10 games in the regular season in 2021, but Kiffin is poised to make sure the Rebels get back to their winning ways. They have a tough schedule this year, but they can realistically with 8-9 games.

How do I see the season playing out after spring ball?

Mercer was slightly above average in the FCS last season, going 7-4 overall and really playing well at home. But when the Bears hit the road, they really struggled.

That’s not going to change here, especially against a Power Five team like Ole Miss. The Rebels are going to showcase that explosive offense and Jaxson Dart is going to have a nice start to his second season in Oxford as Ole Miss runs away with this one.

Prediction: Win (1-0)

A year ago, Tulane made the Cotton Bowl and shocked USC and now the Green Wave are expected to win the AAC yet again. Cincinnati and Houston are gone so there’s a strong belief that this team is going to repeat.

This will be a really tough Group of Five opponent for Ole Miss, but I can see the Rebels escaping with a big win. This won’t be your ordinary Group of Five win; Tulane may be the best non-Power Five team in the nation.

Prediction: Win (2-0)
