Ohio State football has typically been able to reload despite key departures and remain elite, will this be the case in 2023?

The Ohio State Buckeyes have been the primary dominant program in the Big Ten Conference for the past several years, a perennial top-five program in the nation. They seem to have top-notch talent and athleticism coming out of their ears at all times as they seem to have a guy to replace anyone who has departed and be just as strong or better year after year.

The 2022 season ended in heartbreak as a missed field goal prevented the Buckeyes from a National Championship berth and a victory over the Georgia Bulldogs. This season, the Buckeyes will have to replace CJ Stroud, who was drafted second overall in the 2023 NFL Draft by the Houston Texans. Those are big shoes to fill, and as of today, a sure starter has not been named for the quarterback position at Ohio State in 2023.

While history is on their side when it comes to having the next great quarterback to step up and have an immediate impact and there is no reason to believe that either Kyle McCord or Devin Brown can’t be that guy, it is still a big question mark for the Buckeyes as we look at their schedule for 2023.

The 2023 Ohio State football schedule looks similar to what they typically see, two or three major tests, a couple that they should definitely win but will need to play well, and several that they should take care of quickly and easily. Let’s get into it.
