Last weekend was the first big visit weekend of the 2024 college football recruiting class and Clemson football, Georgia, and USC are each on a roll.

June is always an important month in college football recruiting. It’s when most recruits start taking official visits and that was the case across the college football landscape last weekend.

Just about every program felt good about their visit weekend. But different programs do things differently. Some teams wanted their top targets on campus the first weekend, while others are waiting till the end of June for their top 2024 college football recruiting targets to get on campus.

Clemson football is one team that had a bunch of headliners and multiple five-star prospects on campus. The Tigers have changed the way they used to approach June.

Before last year’s class, Clemson football didn’t host any official visitors in the summer, waiting for those in the fall and having recruits take unofficial visits in June/July.

As we said, Clemson football hosted numerous five-star recruits over the weekend, and on Monday, one of them — Sammy Brown — pledged to the Tigers.

It’s hard to overstate what a massive recruiting win this was for the Tigers. Brown is ranked 14th overall in the 2024 college football recruiting class according to the 247 Sports composite rankings, and at 6-foot-2, 230 pounds, he’s the definition of elite.

Brown is someone that every college football program wanted. He’s a wrestler and he’ll be a cornerstone for the Tigers’ defense, likely from the day he steps on campus.

Yet, Clemson football also made headway with five-star safety KJ Bolden, as well as five-star wideout Cam Coleman and five-star defensive lineman Eddrick Houston. The Tigers have also started trending with multiple 2024 targets such as wide receivers Bryant Westco and TJ Moore, cornerback Corian Gipson, and running back Gideon Davidson.

All in all, Clemson is the biggest winner from the first big visit weekend in the 2024 college football recruiting class, but they aren’t the only one.
