Am I a little higher on Iowa this year than most? Probably. I do think the Hawkeyes should be considered the favorites to win the Big Ten West and that’s because they finally placed a focus on the offense via the transfer portal.

Iowa always has an elite defense behind Phil Parker, but now that the offense has weapons, watch out.

The Hawkeyes added Ohio State receiver Kaleb Brown, Michigan tight end Erick All, and Michigan quarterback Cade McNamara. It may not seem like much, but that trio could be dangerous for defenses this year. And heck, the Hawkeyes may only need to score 20 to win most of their games.

Penn State fans have to be excited about this year’s team. The Nittany Lions lose Sean Clifford but Drew Allar has a higher ceiling and I think we’ll see that he probably should have been the starter all along.

On top of that, Penn State has one of the backfields in college football, led by Nicholas Singleton who had 1,061 yards and 11 touchdowns as a freshman. The duo of Singleton and Kaytron Allen is going to be a problem for defenses this year and Allar is a future star.
