3 hardest games on Clemson Football’s 2023 schedule

Clemson football is looking to win a second consecutive ACC championship in 2023 and here are the three hardest games on the Tigers’ schedule.

Even though Clemson football won the ACC championship last season, you get the feeling that people are underrating the Tigers a little bit this year.

Cade Klubnik is a former five-star quarterback and one of the top quarterbacks from the 2022 class. Eventually, he worked his way into the starting lineup after coming off the bench in the ACC title game and helping the Tigers win the ACC championship against North Carolina.

The schedule isn’t all that difficult. Clemson can always run the football and the defense took a step back last season, but should be just fine.

That’s why you should expect another 10-win season and a New Year’s Six bowl game. We’ll see if another playoff berth is possible. With this schedule, it feels like it is, and here are the three most difficult games on Clemson football’s 2023 schedule.

At South Carolina (Nov. 25)

This will probably upset some South Carolina fans. This is definitely going to be a difficult game for the Tigers, Spencer Rattler is back and this game will be in Columbia.

Clemson’s other most difficult road game is against North Carolina State and I’d worry more about the Gamecocks. They are a team on the rise and Clemson football can’t afford to overlook South Carolina like it did last season.

Home vs North Dame (Nov. 4)

This is a game Clemson football fans will have circled on the schedule — the football team too. Notre Dame dominated this game a year ago.

The Irish have something to prove too in 2023 after a Gator Bowl appearance last season. They are also going to have Sam Hartman at quarterback, which is a big upgrade.

Both defenses should be solid, but I’d worry about Hartman. He was good at Wake Forest and now that he’s surrounded by big-time talent, it’ll be fun to see what he can do.

Home vs Florida State (Sept. 23)

If Florida State wins that game against LSU in September, this could be one of the most important games on the 2023 college football schedule.

Beating Clemson football in Death Valley isn’t easy to do. A win by the Seminoles would prove that they are the team to beat in the ACC once again, as well as a playoff contender.

However, it would provide Clemson with the same opportunity. The North Carolina, Notre Dame, and Florida State games are all at home this season for the Tigers, so if they can hold serve, they should have a good shot at getting back to the College Football Playoff.
