Colorado football has undergone more changes than any program in the country this offseason, and that’s not necessarily a bad thing. Actually, it’s a great thing.

Deion Sanders was hired and made some immediate changes to his roster. He’s had dozens upon dozens of players transfer out, but he also signed 19 players from the 2023 recruiting class as well as 50 transfers. Yes, you read that right, 50 (!!) transfers.

The incoming freshman class will be the first long-term group in the Sanders era. Who could have the biggest early impact?

The receiving corps is basically brand new for Colorado heading into the 2023 season and Deion Sanders has brought in some solid talent. Guys like Jimmy Horn Jr. and Travis Hunter should be considered starting-caliber wideouts and could carry the passing game. And then there’s incoming freshman Adam Hopkins.

Although Hopkins may not be a starter immediately, the former four-star will likely crack the regular playing rotation and then make his case for extended playing time.

The Georgia native was ranked the No. 265 overall recruit in the 2023 class by the 247Sports Composite, and he’s the top-rated wideout coming in with the freshmen. He’s going to have an extended role and he’ll be playing out of necessity this season, especially after losing some key players to the transfer portal after spring ball.

Hopkins has a bright future ahead and I can see him being a star early on.
