4. Mike Bobo, Georgia

Mike Bobo wasn’t a splash hire or anything for Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs, but he could end up having the biggest impact of anyone on the list.

Since Georgia football has been rolling, if the offense continues to flourish, Bobo probably won’t get much of the credit. Yet, he played a key role in landing five-star QB Dylan Raiola. He was also the OC when Matt Stafford was the quarterback.

However, there is pressure. Georgia is expected to win another national title this season and if the Bulldogs offense stumbles, Bobo will get a lot of the blame.

3. Tommy Rees, Alabama

Alabama will also have a new offensive coordinator going into the 2023 college football season. That’s nothing new for the Crimson Tide under Nick Saban.

Rees is a different mold than Steve Sarkisian, Bill O’Brien, and Lane Kiffin. He’s never been a head coach before. I’m sure he would like to be one and that’s why this is a solid opportunity.

The Notre Dame OC brought former starting quarterback Tyler Buchner along with him too. Rees is known for running the football. He’ll have more talent at the quarterback position and should be able to grind teams to dust with the talent up front.

However, just like with Bobo, if things go bad (like a 9-10 win season only), he’ll become a villain quickly.
