2. Bobby Petrino

I’d argue that Bobby Petrino will be among the most impactful hires among new offensive coordinators and the most interesting in 2023 as he tries to help Jimbo Fisher gets Texas A&M football back on track.

Petrino is a former NFL head coach. He’s been a head coach in college at multiple stops and he’s always been known for coaching quarterbacks, as well as having good offenses.

Whether it’s Petrino or someone else, Texas A&M football has to get the most out of former five-star quarterback Conner Weigman, or the 2023 season won’t be much better than the disaster of 2022 for the Aggies.

1. Garrett Riley, Clemson

Ever since Trevor Lawrence left Clemson, the Tigers haven’t been the same. They have still been one of the better college football programs. They even won the ACC last season.

But something has been missing. Clemson football isn’t feared like it used to be. Maybe former five-star Cade Klubnik can do enough on his own to get the offense back on track.

Yet, hiring Riley was a genius move by Dabo Swinney. Riley ran the TCU offense a year ago and if he can duplicate that performance, Clemson will be a team to watch in 2023.
