Saturday was a big day for Ole Miss football.

Lane Kiffin was able to not only able to flip a commit from a rival SEC program, but he was able to ensure that he reclassified up to 2023.

You might be wondering how that could happen so late in the process for a 2024 prospect, but it was actually one of the top quarterbacks in the 2025 class. Yes, you read that correctly, Kiffin was able to flip a 2025 quarterback from Florida and have him reclassify to 2023.

How was he able to do that? Well, he apparently has an incredible work ethic in the classroom. He finished all of his high school classes as a freshman and had a 5.34 GPA. Again, not a typo.

The quote tweets and replies to this tweet are hilarious with fans saying things like he needs to stop playing football and go find a cure for cancer or go to NASA. The internet remains undefeated.

Ole Miss football now has an excess of quarterbacks

How does Ole Miss keep convincing quarterbacks to come to Oxford? I get that Kiffin is a really sharp offensive mind and the idea of playing quarterback for him is intriguing, but he has three starting-caliber passers this season.

Jaxson Dart was the starter last season and looks to remain as QB1 this year but Kiffin brought in Spencer Sanders from Oklahoma State and Walker Howard came over from LSU.

So now there are three quarterbacks who will be battling it out for the starting job this season and Simmons will be in town to be that fourth option. Since he should be entering his junior year in 2024, he likely won’t be ready to see the field soon. Plus, Ole Miss hasn’t landed a quarterback recruit in the last two classes outside of Simmons.

Too many good quarterbacks can’t be a bad thing.
