After making it all the way to the national title game behind an electric offense led by an all-everything receiver and a Heisman-caliber quarterback, TCU football may be entering somewhat of a rebuilding phase.

No, that doesn’t mean that Sonny Dykes should expect no more than 6-7 wins this year, but for those banking on him to make it back to the national title game by blowing right through the Big 12, you may want to recalculate.

As Dykes continues to recruit at a decent clip and two of the best teams leave the Big 12 following the 2023 campaign, TCU should rise to the top once again.

Especially if that offense can be as good as it was in 2022. Dykes is an offensive mind, after all.

Well, he’s recruiting a receiver who could become the next great TCU pass-catcher and he’s trending heavily toward the Horned Frogs after an official visit.

TCU football trending for Gekyle Baker

Four-star receiver Gekyle Baker was in Fort Worth this weekend and TCU picked up a couple of crystal ball predictions to land him.

Baker is ranked the No. 91 overall recruit in the class and he’s the 16th-best wideout, according to 247Sports. He would immediately become the top-ranked commit in TCU’s 2024 class and could potentially set off a domino effect for the Horned Frogs.

He still has a trip to Kansas State to make, but it appears as if his visit with TCU exceeded expectations.

Baker would be a massive get and would get the offense back on track after a year in which I’m expecting TCU to take a step back.
