Luke Fickell is quietly piecing together a really nice recruiting class in his first year with Wisconsin football.

After being hired to replace Paul Chryst following a disappointing 2022 season, Fickell knew he’d have to bring a new energy to Madison to reignite the once-proud program. The Badgers had been successful over the years, but it had been four years since they had won 10 games and six since they had been truly relevant in college football.

Fickell seemed like the perfect hire because he was familiar with Midwest recruiting and had a year of head coaching experience in the Big Ten at Ohio State.

Now, he’s showing just why he fits Wisconsin like a glove, recruiting at a high level and getting guys that fit the program to perfection like him. And he’s winning major recruiting battles against elite programs.

In fact, Wisconsin is trending heavily for four-star cornerback Omillio Agard over the likes of Clemson, Tennessee, and Penn State. This would be a massive recruiting win.

Agard could be the next four-star to choose Wisconsin football

As of June 20, Fickell has the No. 14 class in the country with 16 commits. He has three four-stars committed in that class. It looks like Agard is poised to become the fourth.

Agard received a crystal ball to Wisconsin with a conference level of “high” on June 11 from Badgers insider Evan Flood and since then, he’s gotten another one from Steve Wiltfong. That’s almost as good as a lock.

Wisconsin recruiting is trending up big-time and Fickell is to thank for that. He’s brought the excitement back.
