Clemson football trending heavily for 4-star S Ricardo Jones

Dabo Swinney and Clemson football are starting to really heat up on the recruiting trail.

The month of June has been really kind to the Tigers. They have landed three prospects in the top 170 nationally throughout the month of June and it looks like they’re about to land a fourth.

In fact, according to 247Sports crystal balls, four-star safety Ricardo Jones is very close to making a decision and it could just be Clemson. The Tigers received five crystal balls to land Jones over the likes of Florida State and Tennessee.

Clemson landed five-star receiver Bryant Wesco and five-star linebacker Sammy Brown as well as four-star receiver TJ Moore this month, but Jones is soon going to join that group, it seems.

He has a visit coming up this weekend to Florida State before he decides.

Jones is ranked the No. 142 overall recruit in the class and the No. 12 safety, according to the 247Sports Composite. He’ll likely be choosing between the Tigers, Seminoles, and Volunteers.

Clemson football is recruiting at a high level again

There has been some doubt surrounding Swinney and the direction of the program over the past couple of seasons. The Tigers just haven’t been as dominant, but it looks like Swinney is silencing doubters by bringing in some elite talent.

Clemson has landed consistent top-15 classes under Swinney and this feels like one that might just end up in the top 10.

After a couple of years of top-15 classes, it looks like Clemson is back to its normal elite recruiting ways under Swinney. If he can land Jones, a top-150 overall prospect, the Tigers might just jump into the top 10 for for 2024.
