Lincoln Riley was brought in to lead USC football because he is a big-time recruiter and a proven winner and so far this summer, he’s doing the former. The latter was shown last season.

So far this summer, Riley has been doing a great job of selling the program to some of the best recruits in the 2024 class. To no one’s surprise, he has a borderline top-10 class and it’s about to get even better, especially if you believe the crystal balls on 247Sports.

USC has one of the best classes so far, but Steve Wiltfong placed a crystal ball on Thursday for the Trojans to land one of the elite receivers in 2024.

In fact, Wiltfong is the most important crystal ball to receive so USC fans should feel good about Ryan Pellum joining the class just a few days ahead of his decision.

Pellum, the No. 69 overall recruit in the class, is expected to announce his commitment on June 26 and USC is the only school he has visited so far officially. Reading the tea leaves there, it makes sense why the crystal ball was placed.

USC football’s 2024 class is adding some weapons on offense

The staple of a Riley-coached team is an elite offense and the Trojans are on the verge of adding even more weapons in 2024.

If the Trojans do end up landing Pellum on June 26, they’ll have two of the best receivers in the class. Pellum would join Xavier Jordan, the No. 67 overall recruit in the class. They also have the No. 8 tight end in the class and No. 121 overall prospect Walter Matthews to go along with the 13th-best tight end in Joey Olsen.

This offense is reloading before our eyes.
