After an incredible first season with Washington football, Kalen DeBoer looked to have all the momentum in the world on his side.

The Huskies went 11-2 and ended the season on a seven-game winning streak, just missing out on an opportunity to play for a Pac-12 title. The program seemed to be turning things around quickly after a rough end to the Jimmy Lake era.

Washington also brought in some solid talent, led by Michael Penix Jr., and now it brings him back along with some of the best receivers in the country.

But all of this momentum seems to have come to a grinding halt during the offseason as the 2024 recruiting class has been as silent as any in the Power Five.

In fact, Washington has one single commitment in its 2024 class which is ranked No. 97 in the nation. The commit is solid (four-star lineman Paki Finau), but quantity needs to come, not just the quality of one single pledge.

Will that happen soon?

Official visit season should boost Washington football

A lot of programs that got off to slow starts in the 2024 class have been perking up in June and while the Huskies haven’t gained a single commitment yet, help might be on the way.

In fact, on Thursday, the Huskies picked up a crystal ball for three-star linebacker Khmori House as he’s on his official visit this weekend. The Huskies could very well be on commit watch for the Bellflower, Calif., linebacker.

On top of that, the Huskies are hosting yet another big official visit weekend, headlined by four-star defensive lineman Jericho Johnson from Fairfield, Calif. He’s “warm” with the Huskies and that could be a huge recruiting win for DeBoer.

Washington is hosting eight other prospects this weekend that are tabbed as “warm” on 247Sports.

It’s been somewhat of a quiet month for Washington thus far, but visits didn’t ramp up for the Huskies until June 16. Be patient, Husky fans. The floodgates will open soon.
