Dan Lanning truly has Oregon football trending in the right direction.

After another big-time official visit weekend, the Ducks look like favorites to land a number of their top 2024 targets.

One of the biggest names that was on campus this past weekend was four-star, top-100 offensive tackle JacQawn McRoy. The four-star from Pinson, Ala., recently visited Kentucky, Arkansas, and Ole Miss, but it looks like Oregon might be the new favorite just a few days before he announced his decision.

In fact, he has a commitment date of July 1 and he will be announcing on the 247Sports YouTube channel and it looks like, barring a drastic change, the Ducks are about to land their second top-200 offensive lineman in the class.

The day before his official visit, Steve Wiltfong placed a crystal ball for the Ducks to land McRoy and then Oregon insider Matt Prehm followed that up on Tuesday.

The momentum is swinging in Oregon’s direction.

McRoy is 247Sports’ No. 60 overall recruit and third-best offensive tackle in the 2024 class.

Oregon football building elite trenches

If McRoy does, in fact, commit to the Ducks, that would give Oregon two top-200 commits on the offensive line with Fox Crader being the other. They also have three-stars Devin Brooks and Trent Ferguson committed so that offensive line is just getting better and better.

As for the defensive line, Lanning has three four-stars committed to his 2024 class.

As if that wasn’t enough, he had five four-stars and four three-stars committed on the defensive line in 2023 and three four-stars and two three-stars on the offensive line.

Winning programs dominate the trenches and it’s clear that Lanning is building a team that will do just that.
