About four weeks ago, Steve Wiltfong placed a huge crystal ball for Alabama football to land top-100 tight end Caleb Odom after his official visit to Tuscaloosa.

On Wednesday, the four-star tight end from Georgia picked up two more Tide crystal balls.

If Odom were to commit, he would be Saban’s fifth-best recruit in the 2024 class behind five-stars Julian Sayin, Jaylen Mbakwe, and Perry Thompson and four-star Jeremiah Beaman. He would become the fifth top-100 recruit to commit to Alabama in the class.

Now that Odom has wrapped up all of his official visits in June to Alabama, Florida, Texas A&M, and Miami, it looks like he may be nearing a decision. As it looks right now, it would be shocking to see him pick anyone other than the Tide.

Odom is ranked the No. 68 overall recruit and fourth-best tight end in the class, per the composite. Alabama would be the perfect fit for the 6-5, 215-pound star.

Alabama football working on class quality

It’s hard to believe, but Alabama currently has the No. 33 recruiting class in the country which is very unlike Nick Saban. But in true Saban fashion, his class is about to get hot very soon and probably reel in several top-100 targets to make a dramatic entrance into the top 10.

Right now, almost half of Alabama’s 2024 class are five-stars. The Tide only have two players ranked lower than No. 176 nationally committed in the class. Only one commit is not a four or five-star and that’s three-star lineman Joseph Ionata.

Don’t let the national ranking fool you, once Saban gets hot, there’s no stopping him.

This will undoubtedly be yet another top-five recruiting class for the Tide.
