Arkansas football: 3 breakout candidates for the 2023 season
A former blue-chip recruit, Landon Jackson committed to LSU in the 2021 class. He was one of the best recruits in the country and Tiger fans were excited to see him potentially rise up and become the next great defensive lineman for LSU.
After not seeing the field much as a freshman with LSU (five games), he decided to transfer to Arkansas. In his first year with the Razorbacks, he had 23 total tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, and three sacks in 13 games. He was one of the best defensive linemen on the team and he hasn’t even touched his full potential yet — not even close.
An SEC-to-SEC transfer is not a common thing, but it’ll be interesting to see just how big of a star he becomes in Fayetteville as a true junior.
The massive 6-foot-7, 270-pound defensive lineman could be one of the best defenders in the SEC this season and show just why he was so highly-coveted both out of high school and from the transfer portal.
Jackson is going to be an absolute star this season.
