There is an argument that UConn men’s basketball took a back seat to UConn football in 2022. The men’s basketball team won the national title, but that pales compared to what the football program pulled off last year.

There was a time that UConn football was not an oxymoron and was becoming a power on the East Coast. The Huskies even went to the Fiesta Bowl in 2010. The nearly decade and a half after that 2010 season has not been so kind to UConn.

The Huskies have not had a winning season since 2010. Randy Edsall returning to Storrs could not spark a resurgence in the football program.

Enter Jim Mora. Hungry to get back into coaching, the former UCLA head coach accepted a job that seemed like a black hole of college football. Mora made UConn football more than an afterthought in 2022; he made them a bowl team.

There were some blowout losses (59-0 to Michigan, 48-14 to Syracuse), but a couple of upsets mixed in (13-3 win against Boston College, 36-33 against #19 Liberty). That said, the rebuild of UConn football is far from complete.

Can Jim Mora and the Huskies return to the postseason? Here is a preview of the offense, defense, and a look at the schedule.
