This was an easy pick even though you could argue that Shedeur Sanders has already broken out. Unfortunately, the FBS is a different beast and FCS success doesn’t often translate. He’s not exactly a household name at the FBS level yet and I think that could change this season, especially with some talented targets at his disposal.

Sanders has nearly 7,000 yards and 70 touchdowns over his first two seasons of college football, but I don’t think many people realize that. They’re waiting to see him succeed at Colorado.

The Buffaloes are going to need someone to step up at quarterback and Sanders is already the presumed starter. They’ve had shortcomings at the quarterback position over the past few years so Sanders has high expectations surrounding him in year one.

Does all of his FCS success mean that he’s going to step right in and become a star? No, but he has proven that he can be a very good quarterback given the pieces around him.

Sanders is one of my picks to be a legit breakout star on a national level.
