Georgia football trending for elite 2024 RB Nate Frazier
Four-star running back Nate Frazier released his top eight recently but it looks like Georgia football is going to make it a top one.
It seemed like Nate Frazier was going to sign with one of the elite college football programs such as Georgia, Alabama, or Oregon.
There were a number of other contenders in his top eight, but it seems clear, at least to the recruiting experts, that Georgia football is the team to beat for one of the most dynamic running backs in the 2024 college football recruiting class.
Frazier is 5-foot-11, 208 pounds and is ranked 51st overall according to the 247 Sports composite rankings out of Mater Dei in Santa Ana, California. Mater Dei is one of the top high school programs in the country and Frazier is the fourth-ranked running back.
On3.com does have Frazier ranked as a five-star prospect. He’s also the top-ranked running back according to their rankings. The On3 prediction machine also has Georgia football as the heavy favorite, giving the Bulldogs a 91-percent chance to win Frazier’s commitment.
It’s interesting because Georiga hasn’t hosted Frazier for an official visit. He went to Oregon and Alabama for official visits but also has visited Georgia football twice since April on unofficial trips.
This recruitment has always felt like it was going to last into the fall but Georgia football seems to have grabbed the momentum. Steve Wiltfong and Greg Biggins of 247 Sports have both placed crystal ball projections in favor of UGA.
Will Georgia football seal the deal?
What’s interesting is that Georgia football already has two running backs committed. It’s not unheard of to take three running backs, you just don’t see it often.
Dwight Phillips Jr. is already committed and is ranked 93rd overall according to the 247 Sports composite rankings so it’s not a huge need. However, how many times have we seen the Bulldogs have a dynamic running back duo over the years?
It’s hard to get through a season with just one back. Lots of teams share duties at that position and Georgia has been known for doing it even with really good backs — multiple NFL players in the same backfield.
One of the most underrated reasons for Georgia’s success is its ability to consistently pound the rock and the addition of Frazier will further that aim in the future. He’s talked about a later decision though so we’ll have to watch if there is a commitment date announced soon. If so, that’s good news for UGA.
