Taylor Tatum, one of the top recruits in the 2024 college football recruiting class is set to announce his commitment for Oklahoma football or USC on Saturday.

One of the top prizes left in the 2024 college football recruiting class is coming off the board on Friday as five-star Taylor Tatum will announce his commitment.

The decision is expected to be for Oklahoma football or USC. Not long ago, the Trojans were viewed as the favorite for the elite running back out of Texas.

Tatum is ranked No. 31 overall according to the 247 Sports composite rankings. He’s also the top-ranked running back and the 5-10.5, 205-pounder is ranked ninth among prospects in Texas for the 2024 college football recruiting class.

Michigan had a crystal ball lead at one point, but then it was USC that took over. However, when Oklahoma football hosted Tatum for a visit, that really seemed to seal the deal. According to Marshall Levenson of On3.com, the baseball program at Oklahoma was a factor.

"“The pull of the baseball program in Norman looks like it will in fact be enough for Tatum to side with the Sooners.”"

A bunch of expert projections have gone in favor of Oklahoma football from On3.com. However, there haven’t been any new crystal ball projections yet.

Oklahoma football picked up a trio of crystal ball predictions last month following Tatum’s official visit, as well as his other visits. It seemed to indicate that OU had the momentum. It really seems like the Sooners do have the momentum, but Steve Wiltfong and some of the other big names, especially for Texas recruiting, haven’t projected Tatum anywhere.

Maybe it’s just too hard to read. The On3 prediction machine gives Oklahoma football a 98-percent chance to win and it’s hard to see that changing unless something drastic happened.

USC is USC and Lincoln Riley is Lincoln Riley. It would be hard to say to him as an offensive skill guy but Oklahoma is poised to win out and we’ll see if the predictions are correct on Friday.
