It’s no secret that SEC football is the most talked about conference in the country. We hear it every year that the national champion is going to come from the SEC. And this year is no different.

The SEC has some serious contenders and 3-4 teams that could legitimately flirt with the preseason top 10. On top of that, there are probably 3-4 more who could be ranked in the AP Top 25. Altogether, there could be 6-8 teams that might represent the SEC in the rankings to start the 2023 season.

A year ago, it was the Georgia Bulldogs that won the conference title and then went on to represent the SEC in the College Football Playoff. They did well. In fact, they won it all. The year before, it was Alabama that won the league title but Georgia won the national title.

Is it a battle between just those two teams? That could be a legit argument.

In fact, since 2014, either Alabama or Georgia have won the SEC title all but one time. The only other team from the SEC to win a championship in that span was LSU led by Joe Burrow.

But will those two teams have the best chance to win the SEC this year?

These are the four teams that I believe could win the conference in 2023.
