Despite a challenging offseason, Texas A&M football has not slowed down when it comes to recruiting, currently in command of another Top 10 class.

The skies are clearing on an offseason of confusion and churn surrounding the Texas A&M football program. Media days provided a subtle opportunity to build momentum and get the program back on course, but it’s the recruiting front that has really set the Aggies up for success once again.

Following a five-win season with Transfer Portal defections and playcalling debates, the Aggies were expected by many to regress in the one thing they have been extremely prolific at: recruiting. But not only has that not been the case, Texas A&M football has resurfaced back inside the top 10 in the 247 Sports recruiting rankings once again.

After adding two commitments this week, Texas A&M checks in at No. 8 in the national rankings. And with just 18 pledges in the class thus far, they have fewer commits than five of the seven programs currently ranked above them. It’s not volume that has Texas A&M this high, it’s quality. And it’s a reminder that despite the noise, top-tier talent still wants to play in Aggieland.

Texas A&M finished with the nation’s No. 15 class last season. That marks the only time they’ve ranked outside the Top 8 since Fisher’s transition class when he took the job in 2018. If things progress well with this class, Fisher will cement his sixth top-10 class in the last seven cycles.

The Aggies are certainly not done with this current haul, though, and it promises to be just as compelling as many that have come before it. Hard times aren’t scaring top players away from Aggieland thus far. Now it’s on Fisher and the coaching staff to clean up the onfield product to ensure it stays that way.
