Alabama football landed another superstar at wide receiver, plus the Clemson Tigers make a splash in the 2024 college football recruiting class.

It might be too early for some fans to think about the 2025 college football recruiting class but Alabama football is focused on it and landed an absolute freak at wide receiver.

Alabama football has turned into a wide receiver factory under Nick Saban. DeVonta Smith won the Heisman Trophy. Jameson Williams was spectacular and there are a number of others too such as Julio Jones and Jerry Jeudy.

On Saturday, Alabama football landed what could be the next top-10 NFL draft pick in five-star wideout Jamie Ffrench. The receiver is 6-foot-1, 185 pounds, and is ranked 13th overall in the 2025 class according to the 247 Sports composite rankings, as well as the No. 4 wideout.

Ffrench caught 44 passes for over 600 yards and five touchdowns as a sophomore during the 2022 season and it will be interesting to see what he does over the next two years. But it’s a huge recruiting win for Alabama to get such a dynamic playmaker in the fold so early.

Here’s an excerpt of his scouting report via 247 Sports:

"“Has what it takes to emerge as a go-to target at the Power Five level with his tools. Likely to offer some versatility to the wide receiver room of his choice as he could settle in as either an outside or inside receiver depending on how his body fills out. Overall polish could have him on the field early in collegiate career much like his older brother, who set some single-season records at Pittsburgh before making his way to the NFL.”"

Clemson football lands top-100 talent in 2024 college football recruiting class

Saturday was a busy day for blue-chip commitments in the 2024 college football recruiting class but the most significant addition was the commitment of Corian Gipson of Clemson.

The 6-foot, 170-pound cornerback is ranked 67th overall in the 2024 college football recruiting class according to the 247 Sports composite rankings.

Out of Lancaster, Texas, Gipson is ranked seventh among cornerbacks. The Tigers won out over teams such as Alabama, Ohio State, and Texas.

Clemson football had the 12th-ranked class in 2024 according to 247 Sports prior to the commitment and it should easily push the Tigers into the top 10 as Gipson will be one of the top-ranked commitments and point-getters in terms of the rankings.
