3. Penn State Nittany Lions

Fresh off a Rose Bowl victory, Penn State seems to have only gotten better.

How is that possible? Well, the quarterback position’s ceiling is now much higher. Sean Clifford was a consistent quarterback for James Franklin but Drew Allar has legit All-Big Ten talent and could be one of the conference’s best passers.

With Allar at quarterback, Penn State’s offense might just run more smoothly and it’ll have more big-play potential.

Add the improved passing game to an elite backfield that might just be the Big Ten’s best outside of Ann Arbor and you have an offense that’s ready to score at will in 2023. The Nittany Lions are going to be a defense’s worst nightmare.

Speaking of defense, the Nittany Lions will have one of the conference’s best and it just feels like Manny Diaz reloaded on this side of the ball. He’s turning into one of the best defensive coordinators in college football.

I would not be shocked to see Penn State upend Michigan or Ohio State en route to an East title.
