Tennessee Football: Joe Milton claims he can throw a football over 90 yards
Losing Hendon Hooker is a huge blow to Tennessee football which just started turning a corner as a program in 2022. The Virginia Tech transfer led the Volunteers to a huge season before getting injured and giving way to Joe Milton.
Milton, a transfer from Michigan, had a decent final stretch of the season but really put it all together in the Orange Bowl against Clemson.
Now, he’s slated to be the starter with Hooker now in the NFL with the Lions.
There’s plenty of doubt surrounding him as QB1 since he couldn’t catch on with the Wolverines back in 2020 but the hype from some draft scouts and other experts is bringing Vols fans back in. It’s been rumored that he could be the next Anthony Richardson and he’s taking some major steps in the right direction this offseason as a passer.
And he needs to because, well, he’s not the most accurate quarterback in the world.
But he does have a strong arm.
Tennessee football’s QB1 makes a wild claim
Everyone who has seen Milton play knows that he has a rocket for an arm. He can toss the ball 50-60 yards down the field with ease (even if it’s on a 10-yard slant route).
So when he was questioned about how far he can throw a football, the answer shouldn’t have been that shocking. But it was.
According to Milton, he can throw a football over 90 yards through the air.

That is just insane to imagine. Some NFL quarterbacks probably couldn’t even touch 70-80. Yet Milton is out here just casually throwing a football from his own end zone to the opposing 10-yard line. That is mind-blowing stuff.
Hopefully we can see this on display during the 2023 season.
