Is Auburn football about to land another 5-star recruit?
Auburn football has landed two five-star recruits in the past week and the Tigers could be getting another in KJ Bolden.
There must be something in the water in Auburn, Alabama because the Auburn football program is doing things it hasn’t done in years on the recruiting trail.
Getting a commitment from a five-star recruit is always major news, regardless of the program. But this past week alone, Auburn football has flipped five-star commitments from both Georgia and Alabama, giving the Tigers their first five-star pledges since 2019.
Auburn football fans were surely hoping that Hugh Freeze was going to cause Nick Saban some headaches, but maybe even they didn’t think it would happen this early.
However, after flipping five-star linebacker Demarcus Riddick from UGA also wideout Perry Thompson from Alabama — two players from the state of Alabama — Auburn football has set its sights on another five-star recruit — KJ Bolden.
Bolden is 6-foot-1, 185 pounds, and out of Buford, Georgia. He plays for one of the top programs in the country. He’s also one of the best recruits — ranked 7th overall in the 247 Sports composite rankings. He’s also the top-ranked safety and No. 2 recruit in the state of Georgia.
The in-state Bulldogs seemed to have his commitment locked down. His announcement is coming on August 5th, but the Bulldogs own all four crystal ball projections.
Georgia is the leader via the On3 prediction machine too, although the percentage is just 44. That might have something to do with the strong push from Auburn football.
Bolden took an official visit to Auburn football this past weekend, which coincided with the Big Cat weekend, and afterward, Bolden told Hayes Fawcett of On3.com that Auburn football was in his top two.

Will Auburn football land KJ Bolden?
Once that was announced, arguments broke out on Twitter between Florida State and Georgia fans about which team was in the top two.
You can make arguments for both. Florida State is building a lot of momentum but my guess is that Georgia is still the other team in contention.
The decision is set for August 5th which is interesting timing. I’m not sure if Auburn football did enough but watch the predictions closely — if they did — we’ll see a trend soon.
