Florida State football is back to recruiting at an elite level
Florida State football has landed another five-star commitment from KJ Bolden in the 2024 class which proves the Seminoles are recruiting at an elite level.
There is a lot of hype surrounding the Florida State football team heading into the 2023 season and rightfully so.
But there is a lot of buzz about Florida State football recruiting right now, as there should be because the Seminoles just landed their third five-star commitment of the 2024 class on Saturday.
The commitment was from defensive back KJ Bolden, who is ranked seventh overall in the 2024 class according to the 247 Sports composite rankings. He’s also ranked as the top-ranked safety out of Buford, Georgia at 6-foot-1, 185 pounds.
To say this is a massive recruiting win for Florida State football is an understatement. Not only did Mike Norvell and the Noles land a truly elite defensive back, but they also got him right out of the Georgia Bulldogs’ backyard.
Following Bolden’s visit to Auburn last week, he said the Tigers were in the top two. Everyone wondered if Georgia or Florida State was the other team and it turned out to be the Seminoles who are now ranked fourth overall in the team rankings for the 2024 class via 247 sports.
What another five-star commitment means for Florida State football
Florida State football has 22 commitments in the 2024 class. 12 of them are ranked as four-star recruits and three are five stars, giving the Noles 15 blue chips.
What’s even more impressive is that Florida State is tied with Georgia for the second-most five-star pledges in 2024. Only Ohio State has more with four right now in the class.
It’s wild to think that a year ago, Mike Norvell’s seat was kind of hot. Another mediocre season might have done him in.
Instead, the Noles won 10 games and are a preseason top-10 team that looks like a legit playoff contender. And now, Florida State football is starting to recruit like the Bobby Bowden days in the 1990s and that’s a scary thought for the rest of college football.
As long as Florida State can figure out a quality conference to play in. However, that’s not something Norvell can control but everything he can, he’s knocking out of the park.
