If you’re a college football fan nowadays, you’ve probably placed a bet on your favorite team. However, some players forget that they’re not fans and can’t be doing the same. Just like Iowa football walk-on kicker Aaron Blom.

Blom was a freshman in 2021 and he was apparently making a plethora of bets, including some on his own team.

According to reports, he’s in hot water for placing 170 different bets which totaled $4,400 before he turned 21, and one of the bets was eye-opening.

Blom didn’t think his own team was going to put up points in the annual Cy-Hawk game.

As you can see, he bet the under for the 2021 Cy-Hawk Trophy game which was set at 44.5 and he was able to win that bet by a hair (final score was 27-17). It’s just wild that even Iowa players don’t expect their own team to put up points.

If that’s not a smack in the face of Kirk Ferentz, I don’t know what is.

Iowa football may have finally turned an offensive corner

With the additions of Cade McNamara, Erick All, and Kaleb Brown, the Iowa offense is expected to take a major step in the right direction. These guys should help get the offense back to competing at a high level and it might be the best unit in years.

Unfortunately for Iowa, it won’t have its backup kicker more than likely.

I could see Blom getting a year-long suspension for betting while underaged while registered under his mom’s name and placing bets on his own team.

dark. Next. One of these 8 teams will win the national title in 2023
