Purdue football: Can Ryan Walters continue Boilermakers’ winning ways?

Jeff Brohm led Purdue football to its best success since Joe Tiller. Both coaches proved that, if done right, you can win in West Lafayette. Tiller went to 10 bowl games in 12 seasons and went to a Rose Bowl. After some abysmal seasons under Danny Hope and Darrell Hazell, Brohm took the helm.

Brohm went to four bowl games in six seasons and won 17 games in his last two seasons at Purdue. He led the Boilermakers to a Big Ten Championship season in 2022.

However, when home calls, you listen. Louisville’s favorite son went home to take over for Scott Satterfield, who left for Cincinnati.

Purdue football did not look far for its new head coach, poaching Ryan Walters from Illinois’ coaching staff. Walters did not take long to create a viral moment early in his tenure either:
