Alabama football is heading into the 2023 season as a top-five team but this is the first time that I can remember that the Tide aren’t considered a lock for the Nos. 1 or 2 spot.

That’s because Bryce Young is gone and the quarterback situation is a little shaky and undecided before the season. There’s still time to figure all that out, but the clock is ticking with just a few weeks left before kickoff.

With that being said, let’s get bold about the Tide for 2023.

3. Alabama beats six ranked teams

Alabama’s 2023 schedule is stacked. I mean, outside of Middle Tennessee, USF, and Chattanooga, there’s not a free win on the slate.

There’s a legitimate chance that the Crimson Tide will play two-thirds of their games against ranked opponents. You have teams like Texas, Ole Miss, Texas A&M, Arkansas, Tennessee, LSU, and Kentucky who could all very well be ranked at the time of their matchup with Alabama.

What does that mean for the Tide? Well, if they can win a majority of those games, they can make a legit playoff case.

I think Alabama wins six ranked games during the regular season which is just wild when you consider the schedule is just 12 games. The Tide will beat Texas, Ole Miss, Texas A&M, Arkansas, Tennessee, LSU, and Kentucky. I think all of those games are going to be the Tide’s but their only loss of the regular season could be at Auburn in shocking fashion.

Yes, Alabama is easily better than Auburn, but this just feels like a trap game before the SEC title.
