2. Johnny Manziel grew up a Texas fan

I was a little shocked by this. Obviously as a football fan in Texas, there’s a good chance that you grow up rooting for the biggest program in the state. That program happened to be Texas and Johnny Manziel dreamed of playing for the Longhorns and even said that he modeled his game around Vince Young.

Manziel was waiting for that Texas offer out of high school in Kerrville but it just never came. Another major college in the state called, however.

Texas A&M offered him and the rest was history.

It didn’t take long for Manziel to shed that Texas fandom and become an Aggie through and through. Not getting a Texas offer was undoubtedly fuel as well. He would make them regret not offering.

Still, when you imagine Johnny Football in a Longhorn uniform, it just doesn’t look right. He picked the right school because he may not have gotten the same opportunity as a freshman at Texas.
