Colorado football is ushering in a new era under Deion Sanders and fans are excited for the season, especially after going just 1-11 in Karl Dorrell’s last year.

The excitement is at its highest since Mel Tucker was head coach and the expectations are back on the rise. But no one expects the Buffaloes to do a ton better than last year, although three wins seems to be the consensus prediction across the board.

Let’s get a little bolder than that.

3. Colorado has a 1,000-yard rusher and 1,000-yard receiver

This may seem crazy considering the offense has been so bad for years. In fact, the offense hasn’t averaged over 400 yards per game since 2020 and last year, the Buffaloes averaged 281 and in 2021, they averaged just 257. I think they average well over 350 this season.

In order to do that, Shedeur Sanders must become a star and live up to the hype he created for himself over the past two years at Jackson State.

There will be weapons around him, believe it or not.

This is incredibly bold, but I see a 1,000-yard receiver and a 1,000-yard rusher on Colorado this season. My picks for each one? Jimmy Horn would be a decent option but I see Travis Hunter getting to 1,000 receiving yards if he can stay healthy while playing two ways. As for the 1,000-yard rusher, I’m picking Alton McCaskill.
