Ohio State football fans are gearing up for what should be another special year.

After losing to Georgia in the playoff in heartbreaking fashion last season, Ohio State fans saw how close they truly were to winning it all. Even though the Buckeyes didn’t win the Big Ten, they were a missed field goal away from beating Georgia and making it to the national title game against a very beatable TCU team.

To start the 2023 season, though, the Buckeyes will be ranked No. 3 in the country behind the only teams they lost to last season: Michigan and Georgia.

The Buckeyes have a good chance to win the Big Ten and make some noise this season and many believe they have the team to do it — even without CJ Stroud.

Being ranked No. 3 means that the media, too, believes that this team is good enough to compete for a national title. Will they, though?

Fans react to Ohio State football’s No. 3 ranking

Twitter, or X, reacted to the Buckeyes coming in at No. 3 behind Michigan and Ohio State and ahead of teams like Alabama, LSU, and USC. Rival fans trolled the Buckeyes for being one spot lower than them and Ohio State fans were content with the spot, for the most part.

There’s no question about it, Ryan Day is facing a big year with the Buckeyes. They must beat Michigan more than likely to get to the playoff this year. I just can’t see two Big Ten teams in the playoff in back-to-back seasons.

Next. One of these 8 teams will win the national title in 2023. dark
