BYU Football: 3 bold predictions for the Cougars in 2023
2. Kedon Slovis has career-best season
It’s hard to believe that Kedon Slovis is still in college but the senior quarterback for BYU has bounced around quite a bit over his career. He started at USC where he took the starting job from JT Daniels and he left for Pitt last season where he threw for 2,397 yards and a career-low 10 touchdowns.
Now, he’s at BYU.
A lot of people have forgotten about Slovis, but he’s a solid quarterback who just needs the right offense to excel. He was a star at USC as a freshman in 2019 before taking steps back over the following two seasons and then the one year at Pitt.
Moving from Jaren Hall to Slovis will be interesting, but I think he’s going to have a big season with the Cougars, especially with four of the top six pass-catchers from last year returning.
During Slovis’ best year, he threw for 3,502 yards and 30 touchdowns and I think he’ll at least approach that number in 2023.
