Georgia Tech football coach Brent Key and his staff already have 26 high school players committed to play on the Flats in 2024. Those 26 prospects make up what currently is ranked the 24th-best recruiting class in the nation, according to ESPN and Rivals. And 247Sports ranks the Yellow Jackets as having the 26th-best recruiting class in the nation.

While recruiting rankings often change hour by hour, Tech soared up the charts over the summer and watched 15 players commit in the month of June. The Yellow Jackets’ class now ranks fourth among ACC programs and is positioned to have its best recruiting class finish since 2007.

The Yellow Jackets have been able to keep some talented in-state recruits, including ESPN300 defensive end C.J. Jackson, who was a big win on the recruiting trail. He is an explosive defender who can develop into a disruptive edge rusher who chose Tech over Alabama, Clemson, South Carolina, LSU, Texas A&M, Auburn, Oklahoma, Georgia, and Colorado.

Another ESPN300 recruit in wide receiver Isiah Canion was another big home-state keep as he brings home run-threat speed to the Flats. He was previously committed to Notre Dame.

Georgia Tech also pulled four-star quarterback Graham Knowles out of Texas, and he’s tall (6-foot-7), has a strong arm, and has excellent accuracy. He committed to Georgia Tech over offers from Memphis, UConn, UTSA, and Colorado State.

Key has plenty of time to continue to build on what is shaping up to be an historic class on the Flats. This class can’t sign a national letter of intent until Dec. 20 which means that the 2023 Jackets football team has to do their part on the field and in the win column to keep this class together.
