8. Penn State

The Big Ten has a number of truly passionate and loyal fanbases, but I don’t know if any really touch the loyalty of Penn State fans.

Nittany Lions fans have had to deal with a lot over the past decade-plus with off-field black eyes to postseason suspensions to numerous coaching changes. But they’re resilient and they never quit on the program even when the rest of the nation quit on them.

Sure, there are bad apples in the Penn State fanbase but which school doesn’t have some bad representatives?

Penn State fans are loud, outspoken, present, and straight-up rowdy.

Have you ever seen the annual White Out game in Happy Valley? Every single fan in one of the biggest stadiums in the country is wearing white and it’s just the most intimidating atmosphere for opponents. If you’re the opponent for Penn State’s White Out game, just say your prayers. It’s likely not going to end well.

Penn State had 100.8% average capacity last season which was eighth in the nation and it has over a million social media followers.
