Does the name sound familiar? Yes, former Michigan quarterback Cade McNamara will lead the offense next season for the Iowa Hawkeyes.

The 6-foot-1 senior brings experience, he also proved he knows what it’s like to thrive under pressure while guiding Michigan to the College Football Playoff in 2021. He threw for 2,576 yards and 15 touchdowns while completing 64 percent of his passes.

Now, his numbers don’t jump off the paper, mainly because Michigan is predominantly a running team that had two 1,000-yard rushers.

Does anyone expect McNamara to throw for 4,000 yards and 40 touchdowns? No, but fans do expect him to bring competence to the quarterback position.
