Can Alabama Football return to the top of the SEC in 2023?

When was the last time Alabama football came into a season with as many question marks as it does in 2023? Many writers are predicting the demise of the Alabama football program. It seems like the death of the Crimson Tide dynasty has been predicted more than the death of Hulkamania in the 80s.

Nick Saban and his new staff have some questions to answer to win the SEC and return to the College Football Playoff. Who’s playing quarterback? Depending on who you ask, Jalen Milroe is the leader for the job. Others say that it is Ty Simpson. Who’s the alpha receiver?

The Crimson Tide had a run of dynamic playmakers on the perimeter over the last few years. The case is also true of quarterback. The offense might look different with former Notre Dame quarterback and offensive coordinator Tommy Rees at the helm.

Defensively, veteran defensive coordinator Kevin Steele takes over. The former Auburn defensive coordinator is a disciple of the 3-4 defense, like coach Saban. That said, the defense should be elite. The only question is, who’s going to generate the pass rush?

Here’s a look at the offense, defense, and the schedule for Alabama football.
