College football: 1 of these 8 players will win the Heisman Trophy in 2023
Another sixth-year quarterback on this list? Absolutely. Sam Hartman is that good.
One of the guys on this list who has already played a game this season, Hartman took it to Navy in the season opener and showed just why everyone was so high on him as a transfer.
Hartman put up some wild numbers at Wake Forest, passing for over 12,000 yards and 110 touchdowns with a 59 percent completion rate in five years. He’s already off to a heck of a start to his Notre Dame career, passing for 251 yards and four touchdowns with just four incompletions on 23 attempts.
I’m higher on Hartman than most because he has more talented weapons around him at Notre Dame than he ever had at Wake Forest and that’s a scary thought. He had two seasons of over 3,700 passing yards at Wake Forest and I can only imagine what he’s going to do with more talent in South Bend.
Marcus Freeman has a quarterback that can both take him to the College Football Playoff as well as win a Heisman Trophy. He’s the best quarterback Notre Dame has had in over a decade.
