The most obvious choice for No. 1 on this list has to be the reigning Heisman Trophy winner, right? Of course Caleb Williams is a legit Heisman candidate again this season and he’s not just one of eight players who can legitimately win the award, but he’s the favorite.

And he didn’t disappoint to start his 2023 season.

After winning the Heisman last season with 4,537 yards passing and 42 touchdowns with just five picks and a 67 percent completion rate along with 382 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns, he started his 2023 season with a bang. He passed for 278 yards and four touchdowns on 18-of-25 completions.

Williams has all the tools to be a two-time Heisman winner and he’s playing for the quarterback guru in Lincoln Riley at USC. If you’re a quarterback and you want to win the Heisman, you play for Riley. He’s no stranger to having the best quarterback in the country.

And I can see that happening for a second straight year.
