Change is a constant in the sport of college football, and in 2023 one of those changes comes by way of the FOX Sports scorebug graphics. After years of running with a plain, minimalist look for their broadcasts, FOX has gone in the other direction.

The new look features big, crooked logos emblazoned at the bottom of the screen, underlined with the team names in a sloppy script.

Reactions have been mixed, to put it lightly. The first stage of reaction has been disbelief. Many are astounded that this is the look FOX has decided upon for the entirety of its college football output in 2023.

Other fans were reminded of the graphics from the classic EA Sports NCAA Football games.

Perhaps the most common reaction, however, has been downright hate. College football fans across the country have found something they can agree on: they can’t stand the new look for FOX.

The biggest shocker here is that this the the universal FOX look for 2023. If this was the scorebug for some MACtion on Wednesday nights or a wild #PAC12AfterDark game, the reaction wouldn’t be nearly as volatile, but this will be the FOX aesthetic for major games like Michigan-Ohio State as well.

It will be interesting to see if FOX sticks with this look all season, or if they bow to what appears to be universal backlash.
