The 2023 Aflac Kickoff Game features an ACC matchup with Louisville vs Georgia Tech at Mercedes Benz Stadium in Atlanta.

The 2023 college football season has already seen a few big-time matchups, and the 2023 Aflac Kickoff Game should provide an entertaining game between two head coaches making their official debuts and coaching their alma maters.

While neither team is predicted to challenge for an ACC title this year, this is an important game for both programs, giving them a national audience and a chance to begin rebuilding their respective programs.

Georgia Tech finished the 2022 season with a 5-7 record (4-4 ACC), going 4-4 under then-interim coach Brent Key. Louisville’s 2022 season ended with a 8-5 record (4-4 ACC) in Scott Satterfield’s final year as head coach.

Louisville vs Georgia Tech prediction

Everything on paper points to the smart money landing on Louisville, but Brent Key has done a lot to fortify his team in the offseason, and he’ll want to avoid his team being embarrassed for a second straight year in a nationally televised game.

The Cardinals are still the more talented team, but emotion may be on the side of the Yellow Jackets. Key will have a successful first game as the official head coach and Georgia Tech will upset the Cardinals outright.
