The long-awaited debut of Deion Sanders as head coach of Colorado football finally came Saturday, and the Buffs pulled off a huge victory on the road at TCU.

Coach Prime and Co. were 21-point underdogs, and the doubt didn’t just come from Vegas.

There were plenty in the media who weren’t buying the Coach Prime hype. After the 45-42 win on Saturday, Sanders didn’t let anything slide during his time with the media.

As you can see in the video below, he went at who was later to be reported as Ed Werder.

Coach Prime, along with his son and quarterback Sheduer Sanders, voiced a similar sentiment during his postgame interview with FOX’s Jenny Taft.

At the end of the day, however, the ones that mattered believed in Coach Prime. When Sanders was hired at Colorado, there was a question of whether or not the program could afford the $29.5 million price tag. Athletic director Rick George, and the Buffalo faithful, made sure this program-altering hire could happen.

Next week, Sanders and the Buffaloes will once again get the national FOX Big Noon stage. This time they’ll be at home, welcoming Nebraska to town. The Huskers lost to Minnesota in Week 1, so Coach Prime and Co. will be hosting a team that is looking to right the ship in this rivalry matchup.

After the electric spring game atmosphere in April and the huge victory over TCU, there is sure to be an absolutely unforgettable atmosphere at Folsom Field next weekend.

The hype is already through the roof for this team, but if they can replicate this performance and grab another victory, it will jump to an absolutely ridiculous level.
