What a debut for Travis Hunter and Colorado football.

The Buffaloes went into Fort Worth and gave the reigning national runner-ups a game, taking the TCU Horned Frogs all the way down to the wire thanks to huge games from Hunter and Shedeur Sanders.

This was easily one of the best games of the opening weekend through the afternoon slate and Colorado fans have hope again after years of turmoil and losing.

It seems as if Deion Sanders has himself a squad, though.

Sanders has obviously had an amazing game, passing for over 500 yards and four touchdowns, but everyone seems to be buzzing about Hunter who, before the game, even posted “Heisman loading…” on his Twitter.

After one game, it feels like Hunter is making a legit Heisman case.

Travis Hunter is not human

The former No. 1 recruit in the nation did not disappoint against TCU, accounting for over 100 receiving yards on offense while putting the clamps on defensively. Although Hunter wasn’t scoring touchdowns left and right like Dylan Edwards, he was on the field for most of the game and didn’t look to miss a step.

Hunter had those 10-plus catches and over 100 receiving yards to go along with an interception on the defensive side of the ball. He was all over the field for the Buffaloes.

How many two-way players have we seen in college football? And how many times have we seen a guy look so dominant on both sides of the ball?

It’s early, but Hunter is making a legit Week 1 case for Heisman consideration against a team that played for a national title in 2022.
