Georgia football fans hop on early hate bandwagon for OC Mike Bobo
Georgia football fans have high expectations and even though the Bulldogs aren’t through one game, Mike Bobo isn’t meeting them.
It’s safe to say that Georgia football fans are probably a little bit spoiled. The Bulldogs have won back-to-back national championships, are the defending SEC champs, are loaded once again, and currently lead UT-Martin by over 30 points in the season opener.
Sure, it hasn’t been the runaway Georgia football fans expected. UT-Martin, an FCS program, actually trailed just 17-0 at the half.
However, it’s the first game starting for quarterback Carson Beck and despite all the criticism of Mike Bobo, the new offensive coordinator, Beck does have nearly 300 yards passing.
Yet, that’s not good enough for Georgia football fans — at least some of them who are roasting the Bobo on X (formerly Twitter).
Even though Georgia is leading by 31 points and Beck has thrown for 294 yards and a touchdown, there is some tangible evidence to suggest the offense didn’t have the best day as Georgia averaged just 4.3 yards per play in the first half.
Last season, the Bulldogs averaged nine yards per play. They also had a veteran quarterback in Stetson Bennett and boatloads of talent.
Georgia still has a ton of talent and Bobo is going to be just fine. Bulldog fans weren’t that sad to see him leave and many weren’t that thrilled to see him come back and eventually take over as the offensive coordinator.
But it’s also still early. Carson Beck has had some solid moments and it’s way too early to be pressing the panic button on Bobo.
