UCF football will face its first test of the 2023 season when it goes on the road to Boise State this Saturday night. The Knights are 3.5-point favorites, but a win isn’t guaranteed at all.

Gus Malzahn’s squad is coming off of a strong season debut against Kent State, in which they cruised to a 56-6 victory in Orlando. It was a dominant win, but some questions remain unanswered for this team.

Meanwhile, Boise State is smarting after a 56-19 loss on the road at Washington in their season-opener. The Huskies were firing on all cylinders offensively, and the Broncos are undoubtedly looking to have a big bounceback in Week Two.

A lot of that evidence would suggest a UCF win in this contest, but that may not be the case here. Boise State is still a quality football team, and the Knights are by no means a juggernaut.

Malzahn and Co. still have their work cut out for them on Saturday night. There are three key factors that point towards major upset potential for Andy Avalos’ Broncos.
